I disagree completely. Abortions have been desired since time immemorial, and (historically) typically NOT by the poor.

It's shown that when the quality of life is improved, people tend to have less children. The poor use to have more children, one due to the catholic religion and two, due to the mortality rate in relation to poverty and disease.
