  • "Being easily offended is a sign of weakness - a sign you lack the most basic fortitude to tolerate discomfort or difference." - Seerut K. Chawla [] The person has the option of quitting and finding a job where his feelings don't get hurt so easily or else growing a set and learn to face life in all of its reality. • In the U.S., the employee has the right to get a different job. The boss - of course - has every right to complain about quality of work. That's why the employee is there (to do the work, presumably quality work), and that's why the boss is paying him. Naturally, what the boss considers to be "quality work" is the measure which any employee in that position is expected to meet. If for some reason the employee is not able to meet that measure, then the boss (of course) has the right to fire him. That the boss is not doing so demonstrates that the boss is patient with the employee, AND willing to point out faults in the work so that the employee can attempt to correct or eliminate such faults. *** When the boss uses abusive language or harassing language (read: **inappropriate** language directed at the employee), then we have workplace harassment. When the boss is directing the employee to DO inappropriate things, then we might also have workplace harassment. BUT if the boss is addressing the quality of work done, and is doing so as supervisor to employee, well...that's exactly what a boss is supposed to do. That's one of the reasons why a boss is needed. That's one of his duties. *** YOUR self-esteem is not the boss's problem, apart from the case where someone at the workplace is employing ILLEGAL means that result in you having a loss of self-esteem. In THAT case, you have a lawsuit.
  • Just look for another job and then leave without notice.
