  • From all that I know about lawn care, which I am a bit into maintaining a great lawn, I would say Buffalograss is the most drought tolerant and likes the drier climate. It can be overrun by weeds if you fertilize it too much or water it too much especially. It only needs one or two feedings a year. Beyond that, Bermuda grass has some drought tolerance as well.
  • Scotts is selling a drought, light, and traffic resistant blend. I saw it at Lowes and put some of it down in my trouble areas (with some success). I don't remember the brand name, but Lowe's has it. I think this grass may brown out in Jan and Feb depending on your climate.
