      Thanks, Linda :)
  • Check with your doctor DWW, it's always advised before taking up a particular diet where certain foods are removed.

For me DWW, because I can find it easy to put on weight now due to my age, the best thing is to find an activity that you get so absorbed in that time passes and you are not snacking. I read a lot, and I enjoy the garden, I grew my own vegetables last year and it was really rewarding when I harvested them, and they taste so much nicer than shop bought. I also weed, and mulch the garden, and then look forward to my tulips and daffs coming up in the spring, then all my other plants coming into bloom in the summer, there is something about getting your hands in the soil and being in tune with the seasonal cycles, it is a stress reliever as well. Even just going out for a walk for an hour, I quite like listening to the wildlife and birds, but if you prefer your music you could just plug yourself in, it's just filling your times with things like that, so you only eat when you are hungry. Boredom is a nightmare for picking, and stress. At the moment I'm tempted to eat chocolate everyday as a pick me up, but I get far more enjoyment doing other things in the long run, and they come without the guilt :D But, sometimes it's wise to side-step diets that forbid certain foods, because I can guarantee you are only going to want them if you deny yourself completely, that is what they call yo-yo dieting. Where you hear people forever saying "I'll eat what I want today and I'll start tomorrow." And, for the record DWW, you don't want to look back at your life and see that it was consumed by dieting, which is why you need to find something you enjoy doing, to take your mind away from that, so that healthy living, (with occasional treats), become a way of life.
