I mean, isn't it obvious that the film is not a sequel, but a reboot? The cabin is virtually destroyed in the first film, yet it's still old and ricketty in the second film. Where are the corpses of the characters from the first film? None of it makes much sense. It IS a horror comedy film, after all.
