When I was a kid I didn't know what my mother paid for canned vegies. Now candy bars came in only one size and cost five cents at the movie theater. I was given 25 cents per week allowance. with that it cost me 9 cents to go to the Saturday matinee, two movies three or four cartoons and the serial. a box of popcorn was a dime, candy bar a nickel leaving me with a penny which I went to the drug store and bought a piece of Double Bubble gum for 1 cent. I couldn't wait until the next Saturday to get my quarter and do it all over again.

Living in America has nothing to do with it. It's about prices and inflation that happens everywhere. In fact I don't see how you related it to being American at all! Do you have an agenda here? American bashing perhaps? Are you Bootsiebaby?
