  • Pain usually makes me grunt, groan or yell. Maybe even cuss! 😒 It is usually depression, frustration, anger, sadness, exhaustion or hopelessness that makes me cry. I got in the car Thursday with my social worker and told her I was in a lot of pain and she said "I hear! With sound effects included!" I would like to be better at stifling my sound effects! But I'd evidently rather groan in pain than take pain pills, so that's the trade-off.

One time I had an appointment 35 miles from here. Got back and was crying in pain. (failed 1993 back surgery) Stopped in at ER and only got chewed out for going in.

Yeah. I went in 3 years ago with symptoms of my cyst, then went back again with pain in my lower right side (where the cyst is) hoping against hope it wasn't appendicitis, and they told me it was probably a pulled muscle! I knew better, but sometimes they just don't listen. I could probably sue them, but I won't.

I know what you mean but I did not either.
  • No, but I've had a pain level so high that I've passed out.

I have almost passed out a couple of times myself or very close to it wishing I could.

I remember twice pain so bad I broke out in a cold sweat and was overcome with nausea. Once with a gallbladder attack and once when they did a biopsy with no anesthesia. I've passed out, too. Not sure it was due to pain, but like Rick, I definitely preferred that to not passing out and enduring it. But I don't like to dwell on the pain.

Right now I am praying I can dwell on God and His blessings instead of pain.
