  • Matthew 22:36-40...To love the Lord God and to love your neighbour as yourself.

      The greatest commandment! Thank you!

Do you understand what verse 40 is saying? Very important.
    • Linda Joy
40 "On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets" To me it means if you truly love your neighbor as yourself you're not going to want to break the other Commandments anyway. And the Prophets have always preached the word of God. By His own decree the Prophets will never lead us astray. What is your interpretation of this verse?
    • Thinker
When Jesus died on the cross our sin was forgiven for those who believe in Him. When He arose from the grave He abolished the Old Law and fulfilled all the law and the prophets (teaching) with the new Law of Love. Those whom believe in Jesus Christ are saved from the Old Law of God. Learning to live by the Law of Love can be difficult but it can be done...I do.

      Amen brother
  • Matthew 6.3 " But when you give, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret, ". And also John 3.16 " For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in Him wouldn't perish but would have eternal life."

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12....."make it your ambition to lead a quiet life; to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just like we told you; so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and you will not be dependent on anybody."
    • Linda Joy
"11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing." Also good counsel! I like it, too!

*33 He sustains me! Proven in my life, but I also like the part you skipped over about the Lilies of the Field
    • Roaring
Actually what I refer to the most are the birds and the lilies reference(some translations only say flowers). The passage I (assumed)excluded was a line stereotyping pagans/Gentiles. What link to passage reference is the best Linda Joy? I just found this article:https://bible.org/seriespage/9-lifestyles-content-worry-free-matthew-625-34
