nope, it's commendable that you've got enough sense of self to like what you like and not just follow fashion. the 80's rocked, anyway.
-
I grew up in the 80's. There's not much positive things that I can say about the quality of the music. 70's were way better as were the 90's. Pearl Jam was like a savior because they opened up a new style of music as opposed to 80's pop & hair band nonsense. No you are exploring. Let your ear be the judge, not some one here.

NOY AT ALL!! It's REALLY mature that a youngster would even REMEMBER songs from those times because that's is what some older people think that they (young ones) know is the dirty/sexual/suicidal lyrics and songs of today.
-
Is it weird for a 40 yr old to like todays music? No way. Every year there is a song or 2 you will always remember. Look at all the songs from yrs past that have been re-done. Like if this golden ring turns brass mamas gonna buy you a------ whatever, thats just 1.
-
No. There's something to appreciate in music from every era. Continue to do that, it'll give you a frame of reference to better understand influences in today's and future music and appreciate it more.
-
No it is not weird that you like music from the 70's & 80's. I like music from the 40's and 50's.
-
No. Many teenagers are listening to Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Ramones, The Clash, etc.. I think it shows maturity and it is great to be open to music that influences todays music.

I think its cool you listen to music from that time. I grew up in the 80's and 90's and listened to music from 60's and 70's. My kids are now listening to music from that era as well. My 5 year old can sing all the Johnny Cash songs, all the Door's songs, alot of the Led Zeppelin songs, and anything in between then and now. Rock on!!
-

-
No. I grew up in the 70's/80's and I enjoy Cole Porter songs.
-
Nope. There's a lot of good songs from then. I was a DJ at a club in Chicago in the 90's. In the late 90's I got in a little trouble with the owner for playing too many Ramones songs. No one in the club complained though, the owner just thought that 7 or 8 in one night was too many times.
-
Its an honor that you have such great taste. A lot of love songs were written in the 70s.
-
Nope. I am 19 and all my favorite music is from the 60's, 70's, and 80's.

My granddaughters loved the music of the 50s and 60s, when they were 13. They still do today. They tell me the music had meaning. the love songs were great. I assume they are correct. The Beach Boys music is still around and as good as ever.
