• always something upbeat to get you off that mood and think about the people that love you the most....it'll bring a smile to your face and get you off the depressive state.
• "Everybody Hurts" by REM. What's up, Alanpro? I've got my email up on my profile if you don't want to say on here.
• I would stay away from Pink Floyd's The Wall album! I always did the Tori Amos rout but I can't promise it will be uplifting. Brett Dennen is my current fav. Good luck, feel good.
• G'day Alanpro777, Thank you for your question. If I'm feeling a bit down, I like listening to good upbeat music that lifts your spirit. You have to be careful that the music doesn't make you feel worse. Regards
• "I Will Survive" -- the version by Cake.
• Something upbeat and that you like that makes you feel good normally. The worst thing to do is listen to depressing old Joni Mitchell "Clouds" album or anything else that is anything depressing or dark. Unless you feel you want or need to wallow and make things worse, in which case, there is plenty of depressing and dark music out there. I just wouldn't suggest it.
• September by Earth Wind and Fire always seems to cheer me up when I'm down.
• God Will Make a Way by Don Moen
• 'Top Of The World' - Carpenters. It puts ME in a good mood, anyway!
• Ordinary Miracle by Sarah McLachlan. Listen to it and find the ordinary miracles are there everyday. (I would upload a copy from YouTube but I never tried it and I don't know how) Maybe someone would be so kind to upload it for you. Peace.
• I have a few that I like to listen to. This one I just posted on another question. lol Mark Schultz He Will Carry Me I call, You hear me I’ve lost it all And it’s more than I can bear I feel so empty You’re strong I’m weary I’m holdin’ on But I feel like givin’ in But still You’re with me chorus: And even though I’m walkin’ through The valley of the shadow I will hold tight to the hand of Him Whose love will comfort me And when all hope is gone And I’ve been wounded in the battle He is all the strength that I will Ever need And He will carry me I know I’m broken But You alone Can mend this heart of mine You’re always with me chorus And even though I feel so lonely Like I’ve never been before You never said it would be easy But You said you’d see me through The storm chorus This one is from Third Day. "Tunnel" I won't pretend to know what you're thinking I can't begin to know what you're going through I won't deny the pain that you're feeling But I'm gonna try and give a little hope to you Just remember what I've told you There's so much you're living for There's a light at the end of this tunnel There's a light at the end of this tunnel For you, for you There's a light at the end of this tunnel Shinin' bright at the end of this tunnel For you, for you So keep holdin' on You've got your disappointments and sorrows You ought to share the weight of that load with me Then you will find that the light of tomorrow Brings a new life for your eyes to see So remember what I've told you There's so much you're living for Or these by Superchick Stand In The Rain Lyrics She never slows down. She doesn't know why but she knows that when she's all alone, feels like its all coming down She won't turn around The shadows are long and she fears if she cries that first tear, the tears will not stop raining down [CHORUS] So stand in the rain Stand your ground Stand up when it's all crashing down You stand through the pain You won't drown And one day, whats lost can be found You stand in the rain She won't make a sound Alone in this fight with herself and the fears whispering if she stands she'll fall down She wants to be found The only way out is through everything she's running from wants to give up and lie down. [CHORUS] So stand in the rain Stand your ground [ Lyrics found on http://www.metrolyrics.com ] Stand up when it's all crashing down You stand through the pain You won't drown And one day, whats lost can be found You stand in the rain So stand in the rain Stand your ground Stand up when it's all crashing down Stand through the pain You won't drown And one day, whats lost can be found [CHORUS] So stand in the rain Stand your ground Stand up when it's all crashing down You stand through the pain You won't drown And one day, whats lost can be found You stand in the rain Beauty from Pain The lights go out all around me One last candle to keep out the night And then the darkness surrounds me I know I'm alive But I feel like I've died And all that's left is to accept that it's over My dreams ran like sand through the fists that I made I try to keep warm but I just grow colder I feel like I'm slipping away After all this has passed I still will remain After I've cried my last There'll be beauty from pain Though it won't be today Someday I'll hope again And there'll be beauty from pain You will bring beauty from my pain My whole world is the pain inside me The best I can do is just get through the day When life before is only a memory I wonder why God let me walk through this place And though I can't understand why this happened I know that I will when I look back someday And see how You've brought beauty from ashes And made me as gold purified through these flames Here and I am at the end of me (at the end of me) Trying to hold to what I can't see I forgot how to hope This night's been so long I cling to your promise there will be a dawn And one more it's from Amy Grant Held Two months is too little They let him go They had no sudden healing To think that providence Would take a child from his mother While she prays, is appalling Who told us we’d be rescued What has changed and Why should we be saved from nightmares Were asking why this happens to us Who have died to live, it’s unfair This is what it means to be held How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive This is what it is to be loved and to know That the promise was that when everything fell We’d be held This hand is bitterness We want to taste it and Let the hatred numb our sorrows The wise hand opens slowly To lilies of the valley and tomorrow This is what it means to be held How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive This is what it is to be loved and to know That the promise was that when everything fell Lyrics We’d be held If hope if born of suffering If this is only the beginning Can we not wait, for one hour Watching for our savior This is what it means to be held How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive This is what it is to be loved and to know That the promise was that when everything fell We’d be held Repeat Chorus
• Boston by Augustana makes me feel like I will be able to just get away from all this and start new, and I like that. One of my favorite songs. And Weezer is pretty good for depression. They either relate, or get you feeling better. I would say...Island In The Sun, Holiday, El Scorcho, Dope Nose or Keep Fishin for a happier feeling, and entire Pinkerton album (specifically Across The Sea, Butterfly, and Pink Triangle) and Death & Destruction if you just want to feel okay with being down.

• "Small Enough" by Nichole Nordemann. Sometimes I sing it when I'm alone. It's not an exciting song, and for the longest time I didn't like it because I'd never taken the time to listen to the words, but they are so wonderful. Oh great God Be small enough To hear me now There were times when I was crying From the dark of Daniel's den And I have asked You once or twice If You would part the sea again Tonight I do not need a Fiery pillar in the sky Just want to know You're gonna Hold me if I start to cry Oh great God Be small enough to hear me now Oh great God Be close enough to feel You now (Oh great god be close to me) There have been moments when I could not face Goliath on my own And how could I forget we've marched Around our share of Jerichos But I will not be setting out A fleece for You tonight Just wanna know if everything will be alright Oh Great God Be close enough to feel You now All praise and all the honor be To the God of ancient mysteries Whose every sign and wonder Turn the pages of our history But tonight my heart is heavy And I cannot keep from whispering this prayer: Are You there? And I know You could leave writing On the wall that's just for me Or send wisdom while I'm sleeping Like in Solomon's sweet dreams I don't need the strength of Sampson Or a chariot in the end Just wanna know You still know how many Hairs are on my head Oh great God (Are You small enough) Be small enough to hear Me now Also, ignore the video, I just posted it for the song.

• Sad songs work great if you're in to torturing yourself to death. Once you run out of tears to cry you'll find that life is much better when you're not wasting it being depressed. The biggest thing is figuring out why you're depressed and if it's worth being depressed about. My guess is it's not. You deserve to be happy. Surround yourself with friends and family and concentrate on the future and the things you want in life. Then you wont have time to be depressed.
