1 Friday after working 16 hr's I came home only to find a note telling me that my best friend was in the hosp: When I showed up he asked me to fill in on his job. I left to do so & put in another 20+ hours before I had everything done. I then came home to get some much needed sleep & found that someone driving drunk had put their car through my fence & the cows were out all over the place. about 12 hr's later the cows were back in and fence put back up. Then my friend was sent to another hosp: 67 miles away. And I was called to be there for his luck was not looking good. 20 + hr's later he passed away. When I made it home I tryed to go to sleep, but do to all that had just happen I could not sleep & I stayed up for another day before I finely got some rest. So how many hr's was it. I really don't know for sure. Only that it was more than I ever want to stay up for again. Now I am sleepy just thinking of this... GOOD NIGHT...M.C.S.

When I was 14, starting 10th grade, I was awake for...about 62 hours I believe, before sleeping for 3, then back up for a few days. Not a fun first week.

Currently, it is around 2:30 am on Friday, February 27, 2009, and I last awoke around 8 am on Monday the 23rd, meaning I am half-way through hour number 90 of this uneventful endeavor, which I hope to bring to an end tonight at around hour 110, or just over 4 1/2 days. However, seeing as though I have made it this far with only some minor muscle aches I may attempt to last the weekend or even try and make it a complete week. If I make it that far I will repost with those results. Why have I been up this long? That answer is rather simple, I had quite a bit of work I had to finish by the end of the week, but wanted it done early so that I could get Friday, today, off, so that I could drive a few hours into Western Michigan and go steelhead fishing. After I finish here I will do my laundry, pack the car and go. While this is the longest stretch since high school I have ever gone, I often pull a single all nighter per week (38 hours). However, it is not uncommon for me to pull back-to-back all nighters which average a bit over 60 hours, and I have done three in a row several times, which last about 84. I have never experienced any negative effects outside of muscle stiffness or the occasional cramp. While I have never been tested to tell, as far as I can determine I do not suffer any noticeable loss of focus or cognitive function as I have written a 20 page legal brief on the third night of back-to-back-to-back all-nighters.
