  • During the legendary Clone Wars, General Grievous served as the leader of the Separatist droid army. Grievous was a cunning warrior who led the Separatists to many stunning victories over the Jedi Knights and the Old Republic military. Grievous became known as the worst enemy the Jedi had ever faced in battle. Many brave Jedi perished at the wrong end of Grievous' light sabers. http://www.generalgrievous.net/
  • It's long and complex, and you'd probably be better off looking it up on Wookiepedia if you have half an hour to spend. Grievous was originally a member of a rather primitive reptilian species called the Kaleesh. He was a war-chieftan who fought in the Huk Wars, Huk being what the Kaleesh called the Yam'rii (remember the big praying mantis alien in the Mos Eisley cantina? Those things.) The Huk wanted to take over Kalee and ensalve the Kaleesh, so Grievous led his people in war against them. The war was so successful that not only were the Huk driven from Kalee, but Grievous took the fight to the Huk colony worlds to punish them. Then the Huk begged the Republic to intervene and save them from the 'invaders' (even though they started it). As usual, the shortsighted Republic and their Jedi attack dogs waded in, kicked the ass of the side that looked like the bad guyes, and put such heavy reparation demands on the Kaleesh that the entire planet was cast into economic ruin and famine. San Hill, the Muun leader of the Intergalactic Banking Clan, then stepped in and made Grievous a deal. If he would lead their droid army of debt collectors, then Hill would use his Clan's money to bail out the Kaleesh. Grievous hated giving up being a warrior to become a glorified bill collector for a corporation, but it was the only way to save his people. Then San Hill arranged an "accident" on Grievous' ship, during which most of his body was destroyed. Hill made Grievous a deal--be the new commander of the Separatist droid armies, and we'll use our cybernetic technology to rebuild you stronger than before. Grievous took the deal. (San Hill did this just so he would have another war leader to play against Count Dooku, because he couldn't control Dooku. Sneaky, those guys.) Grievous was presented as a sort of "gift" to Dooku, who gave him Sifo-Dyas' old lightsaber and taught him to fight Jedi. Grievous, though not Force-sensitive, became a master of lightsaber combat, and during the Clone Wars he killed over a hundred Jedi. His mechanical body, multiple limbs, and incredible dexterity compensated for his lack of Force powers. Thus Grievous became one of the Jedi's deadliest new enemies. And after his death, a lot of the cybernetic techniques and technology that was tried out on him first was refined and used to rebuild Darth Vader. Somewhere in a dark throne room, Sidious smiled. All according to plan. Years later, Grievous would be remembered and worshipped on Kalee as a god of war by his people.
  • he was a war warlord during a brutal war against the kaleesh and the huk species and his shuttle crashed. Darth Tyranus/count doko found him, rebilt him, and trained him.
  • General Grievous, a cyborg leader of the Separatists, was once a proud warlord of the Kaleesh. He was the leader of the Kaleesh during the war with the Huk. General Grievous was really powerful and a was very good tactician. He crushed the invading Huk and even launched an attack on the Huk homeworld. The Huk knew that they could only win with some help. So, the Huk asked the Republic to help them repel the Kaleesh. The Jedi swept the Kaleesh out and left them in ruins. Then, the Banking Clan (a Separatist party) offered General Grievous a deal. If Grievous joined the Banking Clan, they would provide money to re-build the Kaleesh. But, the Banking Clan tricked Grievous (as expected) and blew up his command ship. Grievous never knew that the Banking clan set up this destruction. Grievous lost most of his body, and the Banking Clan made another offer. Grievous would let the Separatists make Grievous commander of the Separatist Droid Army. They would also rebuild his body. Grievous took the the deal. Count Dooko then trained Grievous to be a Jedi slayer. Grievous never knew how to control the Force. Grievous then started his infamous lightsaber collection. He gained these lightsabers from Jedi he had killed. Grievous led the droids for a long period of time. His most famous victories were the destructions of Republic fleets with a special ship that fired paralyzing ion waves. This ship was called the Malevolence. At the battle of Utapau, General Grievous was killed by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Kenobi shot him with Grievous's own blaster right in the heart. Grievous burst in flames and died.
