If you want your Sims to get married, do they have to be from different families?

If you want to have a ceremony, yes. However, you can consider two sims in the same family who love each other to be married if you want to, being that the only thing marriage entails in the sims is that the couple live in the same house.

Of course not. It can be from the family you created or a different family.

If you have Sims2 you can get them married b4 you even play w/ them. On the normal Sims, they can get married out of the sam family or the neighbors. Or u can be lesbain or gay, i'm not sure if gays or lesbains can get married in it though, but it is hilarious!!!! lmao
