  • I know of a few ways, I am sure there are more though (I stress that these are a FEW ways out of MANY for those who care to nitpick. Obviously a fan or hairdryer will work, but these are a few OTHER ways). Alas, I see that the nitpick rating has been removed :) Sooooo,. . . You could always try using a quick drying polish. Those claim to dry to the touch in 60 seconds. Most major brands (Revlon, Maybelline, etc.) make some form of this type of polish. You could also opt for a quick dry top coat that is clear and goes on over regular polishes. Sally Hansen makes a good one called Insta-Dri. OPI also makes one called RapiDry. There are aerosol sprays that you spray onto your newly polished nails. These are usually available at Wal-Mart or beauty supply stores. These tend to work really well and very fast. There is one in particular called 1-2-3 Dry that comes in a blue can (looks like a hairspray can) that I really like. I also read somwhere that dipping your nails into ice cold water for 30-60 seconds helps cut down on the dry time. Just don't swirl your nails around in the water. . .just dip them in. Then let your nails air dry. That's all I can think of. Hpe this helps :)
  • I use a small hand held fan in addition to the suggestions left above. Always works for me.
  • I use this stuff called Dry & Go by Sally Hansen. After putting on nail color wait for a minute and put this on.. YOur manicure will dry to the touch in 30 seconds.. It's great to have ...and works
  • the aerosol quick dry spray does dry the polish in 3 seconds,i have experienced that it will cause the polish to rub off very easily though.my suggestion is to dry the nail polish(the actual color)with the spray and then to put a clear top coat and spray the nail once more and it will prevent the polish from rubbing off.
  • I run cold water over mine, and it works every time.
  • Odd, but it works really well, is to spray PAM on them, not totally sure why it works but they get dry in under a minute. Also works wonders on your cuticles ;-)
  • The quickest way is to blast them with a hair dryer. But be careful not to smudge the hand you're holding it with. I find spraying them with hairspray helps too, although I've no idea why.
  • There are many products advertised to dry nails faster, but the only one I've had good luck with is called Seche Vite fast-dry topcoat. It sets almost as fast as you can brush it on, and the finish is flawless. You do have to keep it thinned with nail polish thinner (not polish remover - that has water it it!) as it thickens or it will get goopy.
  • Get the right nail product I used to have the same question until I found Dazzle dry nail polish it really dryes in 5 minutes all the way throug you can even put your shoes on thats how fast it dries I hope you enjoy it
  • I have tried all of the above, and I have found that the best and most economical way is a combination. After applying color, I blow each hand dry for five minutes on cool. I then apply clear quick-drying top coat and wait five minutes. Next I dip my hands in COLD water and let air dry. As soon as dry, I spray a light coat of cooking spray. This seems like a lot of work, but you will be completely set and ready to do other things in 30 minutes. This seems like longer than some other methods, but each method alone is not as effective. Also quick-drying colors do not seem to hold up as long as regular nail polishes. Not sure why. Additionally, lighter nail colors dry faster than darker colors (something about resins, I think).
  • I use Avon's Skin So Soft Body oil. It comes in a spray bottle... I polish, wait for a few minutes, and when I can't stand waiting any longer, ( which isn't long for me) I spray the Skin So Soft generously on my hand and nails. You can even touch it gently after that... I always rub it into my cuticles, and of course you have to touch your nails to do that. I haven't smudged them yet... I use at least 4 layers of polish too... You've still got to be careful but with a coat of oil, you can touch it, and it will withstand bumping and rubbing thing across your nails as long as it's not to terribly rough... The thing with me and nail polish is, no matter what the circumstances, I ALWAYS have to use the bathroom before my nails are dry. Always! So far this has worked wonderfully for me... When the oil soaks in and dries, if my nails still feel a little tacky, I just spray more.
  • OPI has a great product called Drip Dry its like an eyedropper you just finish your polish and topcoat and apply 1-2- drops per nail , works a treat!
  • I use SuperStar nail lacquer. It has great colors that last a long time and each coat dries like 20 seconds afte r you brush it on! This stuff is amazing! i hate waiting for my nails to dry at the salon but i don't anymore. I after the top coat is applied, i wait about three minutes under the light and leave. happily with no smudges. In the past, I've always smudge at least one nail when leaving the shop. so I suggest trying Super Star Nail Lacquer it's cute and dries extremely fast!
  • as a nail technician these all work to some degree - fact is no matter what you do it will take up to 2 hours for nails to be completely dry...depending on how many layer you apply and how thick. the best way to polish is base coat - 1 thin layer, you're nails wont turn color from the polish. let dry 1-3 minutes, apply THIN first layer of color polish let dry 1-3 minutes, then apply SLIGHTLY thicker second layer and again dry 1-3 minutes. finally applt thin to med coat topcoat and dry completely. drying time really is dependant on how many layers and thickness of each. 95% of my clients are dry enough to dig for their checkbook/wallet out of a handbag or put on shoes without problems in less than 5 minutes after a full properly applied polish application - without anything other than air drying time.
  • i always run them under cold water as soon as ive painted them, then if still not dry within a few mins i use a hairdryer :)
  • Apply a thin coat of polish and allow it to dry thoroughly before applying the next coat; I allow my "first" coat to dry for an entire day. The following day I'll apply another coat. You can spray it with PAM (yes. . .the stuff you use to coat your pans for cooking) and/or putting them in ice water for a couple of minutes. I personally don't think there's anyway around "time". Your nail polish needs to harden up very well for it to last long. Fast-drying polishes simply don't live up to durability. No one ever said "being beautiful" was easy . . . or quick. Guys need to understand why women become distressed over chipped nails . . .AND POLISH !
  • Stick them in a bowl of ICE!
