It doesn't really affect me much at all. I had insomnia for like a year, so I got used to not sleeping. If anything at all I'm just slightly less cheery.

I can still do that for about 36 hours without feeling too many unpleasant side-effects, even at 66. Much longer, though, and I begin to feel like a zombie! Heh!

I get sluggish, but somehow I get great spurts of energy because I am under the pressure of "This has to be done today, and this...." My body says you need to crash, but my mind and schedule absolutely shuns the idea of sleep.

I experience a 'derealization' that's reminiscent of the 'tail end' of an acid trip. ;-)

Unexplained laughing fits or crying fits, extreme headaches, loss of balance and I hear little kids laughing everywhere. It sucks.

After 1 night I am just really tired and edgy. After the 2nd night I start hearing voices and seeing things that aren't there (I am not schizophrenic) and I am very paranoid. I prefer to sleep but that's not always possible.

I don't remember, I would need to have a few days of good sleep to compare it against, then I could get back to you with an informed answer.. . I'm guessing though, that it's what makes me a little dopy most of the time.
