  • I was 10 years old when Elvis died. It upset me. He was a part of my childhood and he was just gone one day. I was old enough to know why he died and it just seemed so sad that he died like that at such a young age. I knew, even at that young age, that things were going to be different from that point on.

  • John Winston Lennon 10/9/40 - 12/8/80 He's still around - I feel him without a doubt. But still I miss the music and I feel for Yoko; life seems so unfair sometimes. I just read, the other day, that they had been concerned about security around their home and had made an appointment to speak with someone about it but for some reason cancelled and rescheduled the meeting for 12/9/80! Just goes to show that, truly, one must not put off until tomorrow something that would be better done today. :(

  • Layne Staley, I mean nobody found the guy until he had been dead for a couple of weeks. He was really talented. Of course, I was sad when Kurt Cobain died as well. I was at work when my husband called and said that he had killed himself and I thought he was joking. The electrician who found Kurt was related to a guy he was friends with. So before the news had time to hit the local radio station, my husband knew all about it.

  • David Reilly of God Lives Underwater Dave and I had become friends via the net, God Lives Underwater was my fav band..we kept in touch for about 5 years as the band disintegrated due to Dave's drug addictions..he tried to get himself clean then his girlfriend was hit by a train, he went through some rough times, the band split up, the last album was mastered wrong and sounded like crap (not songwise but quality wise) then Dave got clean for good and everything seemed to be working out, he released a solo album and he contacted me to come to Philly to jam with him and possibly play guitar and do backup on his new album tour. I was stoked...then I didn't hear anything for a few days...last time I had heard from him he mentioned having a really bad toothache...turns out he died from the tooth bleeding into his lungs while he was asleep. He was almost done with his second solo album..it's still in limbo, but I got to hear pieces of it and early versions of songs..not sure if it will ever be released...myself and some other GLU fans put together a tribute album in his honor and it came out with the book "The David Reilly Memoirs".
  • Luther Vandross.
