Yes. So does nature. Just watching a fish tank has been observed to lower your blood pressure. Swimming, floating, walking barefoot in the grass, watching a fire burn (a controlled one, of course!) all can reduce stress as well.

It depends how you exercise. One time I attempted to burn off some intense anger through vigorous work with no reduction in stress or anger. My mind was hooked into the object of my anger and exercise with that troubled mind just fueled it.
