Gotta be either Toyota or General Motors? I think I remember reading something about the former recently kicking the latter outta the top slot, but don't count on my recollections alone! ;-)

At the moment it's Volkswagen-Porsche. In the first 9 months of 2009 they've made 4.4 million cars. Toyota has only made 4 million.

As of November 2009, VW Group (VW/Porsche/Audi/Bugatti/SEAT/Lamborghini/Skoda/Bentley/Scania/VW Commercial) passed Toyota as the world's largest (in terms of units) vehicle producer. It's unclear whether this is a temporary situation (due to European 'cash-for-clunkers' incentives), or if VW will hold this title for the long term. http://autos.yahoo.com/articles/autos_content_landing_pages/1161/volkswagen-steals-toyotas-crown-as-worlds-largest-automaker/ . . .

That would be Caterpiller. They make the Caterpiller 797B, the worlds largets dumptruck. They can carry over 380 TONS in one load. They weigh 1,375,000 pounds and cost 5.5 million bucks. :):):) (I know, I'm being silly...) . .
