Are you freaking kidding? No it's not ok!!!!
-
HELL NO!!
-
Ever heard of contributing to the delinquency of a minor? If you love your child, then you already know the answer.
-
No, it isn't. In Europe sometimes small infants may be given a drop or two (literally drops) of alcohol to help soothe them to them sleep. Anything amounting to a small glass of wine is probably illegal where you are, but is definitely not something I would ever dream of giving my child. Don't do it.
-
Of course not. That would be child abuse. You do realize that you can go to jail for giving a 20 year old a SMALL glass of wine, too.
-
It is not even remotely okay.
-
No, I would guess that it would have harmful side effects for someone that age.
-
No.
-
Not really no. I've nothing against introducing children to alcohol at a young age, it worked for me & my friends growing up in Belgium. However giving wine just before bed when they'll be unsupervised just seems like its inviting problems.
-
I was born in Europe and it was common to have a little glass of wine and soda with dinner. Nothing wrong with that. It teaches children that alcohol is not a taboo. Contrary to opinions in the US and Australia, it doesn't promote binge drinking. Having said that, a glass of wine to make them sleep separate to a meal, seems excessive.
-
I wouldn't do it. You don't want them getting in the habit. One thing we did do was rub our daughter's gums with bourbon when she was teething. Worked like a charm.
-
Kids need to learn to fall asleep on their own .. not have a "crutch" to help them ... whenever possible. If the child is having trouble sleeping, there are lots of other ways to deal with it before you would try giving them wine.
-
What is wrong with reading them a story! Children at that age need to be calmed down before going to sleep - so a warm bath, in to bed and you sit and read them a story or tell them one of your own....you do NOT give them alcohol to get them to sleep!
-
No. I have no evidence - it just doesn't sound right to me.
-
Hell no
-
Sure, if you want them to be an slcoholic
-
dont be an idiot......thats fucking dumb
-
No, but I say that because it's not even a great idea for an adult to use alcohol as a sleep aid (it's something to be enjoyed with meals or on a night out). Eventually, the person's body acclimates to the wine, so they need more and more of it in order to get to sleep.
-
If it's once in a while, I don't see it being a problem. However, if it becomes a nightly thing, then I would consider it "not ok." That's just preparing the child to be an alcoholic. +3

i dont think so

it's illegal in the state of Alabama to give anyone under 21 alcohol. No exceptions not even in your own home by your own parents.
