Is an over drive button suppose to be on or off? I don't use the car for nothing other then going to work. I don't pull things with it or nothing like that. And if its suppose to be off and it has been on what will that do to my car?

Unless you are mainly traveling on the highway you can leave it off. If it has been on during stop and start driving it won't hurt anything. If it is left off at highway speeds you may loose alittle fuel milage.

I would just leave it on. The transmission was designed to use all it's gears. Calling it overdrive dates the thinking of the car's maker. This isn't the 70s, and transmissions now have more than three gears. Overdrive is an anachronistic term for those who haven't adapted to modern technology.
