Just FYI, there is one species of field vole in which the male vole mates with dozens of females, non-stop, until he overloads his cardiovascular system and has a stroke. He literally screws himself to death. There are very few male field voles. The females all come in heat at the same time, and they line up and wait. . This is not a joke.
