The British didn't in the 19th Century. The Soviets didn't in the 20th Century. It is highly unlikely that the current invaders will be any more successful.

Difficult one...... When you're fighting a guerilla war against a different religion and ideology, it's hard to define 'victory'.

No way to win. Will be the same as in Iraq.

Indeed there were existing quite successful concepts proposed by other countries including a quite different strategy. But neither the British nor the Americans wanted to hear about. They have since ever their own strategy which is well known from Vietnam and Iraq. The end will be the same. This way they will defintively fail and because other countries know that they will fail, they retire their support and their troops from Afghanistan.
