Commonly one parent will take on that role. I grew up with one parent and believe me, I didn't miss out on discipline.
-
It was definitely my MOM! You didn't mess with her, lol, but she's my bf now. She was and is the best mom ever :)
-
My mom decided the punishment - what it was to be and for how long (not excluding corporal punishment), but she told my dad and it was HIS job to see it was enforced.
-
My Mom was, so I lived with my Dad.
-
Usually my Mom, but when my Dad was home ... he did too. They both handled the discipline when they were around together.
-
They were both good disciplinarians, but my dad was not one to mess with.Of course I had to test that.lol!
-
My dad NEVER laid a hand on me, yet he put the fear of God in me just with his eyes! My mother was a veritable BULLY!
-
my mother. dad was kind of cool ;)
-
No question...no if's, and's or but's about it...my Mom! She was strong...and she had the full backing of my Dad, as well, ...and my Sister and I knew it! Along with her discipline, she was also our basic life teacher...i.e., in how one should be in life. Reading, writing and arithemetic, but only in part, were the responsibilities of the school teachers. Dad was the "breadwinner" and teacher of principle, as well. One important thing he did teach me most of all: Respect women...among others, of course! Bottom line, kids most love their Mom's...at least they used to, anyway. Maybe things have changed...I don't know. Things change faster than I can keep up. +5

my mum. My dad never laid a hand on me, but my mum would. To be honest, looking back, i think it was more temper than discipline. Plus my Dad was hardly ever at home
-
My dad was definitely more lenient; my mom was the hard-ass.
-
They both were equal in that department.
-
My Dad, physically and then decided physical punishment was wrong, so he got angry instead. My Mom would talk and say why it was wrong and make me feel terrible. +5
-
I would say my dad was but my mom was a tough parent too.
-
my dad, but not as much, now that i think of it.
-
My mom. Thanks for the question, I was actually surprised by the answers.
-
My dad was, but I love & respect him so much for it
-
they were both pretty big on it
-
Lol depends on who leads in the family.
-
Well, my dad definately hit harder.
-
My father was the disciplinarian. My mother too but only when he was working away.
-
Definitely my dad. He would hit you with whatever he got his hands on. My mom was the softee. She would always defend us. +6
-
My dad. ex. if my dad knew if I skipped school I was grounded for a week. but if my mom knew if I skipped school she would just tell me not to do it again (which never worked).
-
My mom seemed to punish me more, but I think that was because to my dad, teenage girls were alien. He grew up with three brothers, and had four boys before they had me. Now that I think about it, I think it depended on what I was being disciplined about.
-
My mom was the discipliner, but when it came to big things I would hear "WAIT UNTIL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME"...AND THEN I knew I was in trouble...:S...lol. I would straighten up my act as much as I could cuz he was the man with the hand. He wasnt mean just stricked. My pops was a cool guy.
-
My Mumma was a total softie she'd never hit me. On the other hand my step Dad was a total psyco... But we got outa there quick smart lol
-
my mom's more strict than my dad at times. he's more of the easy going dude.
-
my dad mainly mom just yells alot
-
Um... that would be the six foot eight man with the belt. As I got older the belt was replaced with his hand, then his fist, then I left... +3
