  • In a pressure suit, you lose heat by radiation. Without the suit, you lost heat by radiation and by evaporative cooling. The evaporative cooling happens very very fast due to the vacuum.
  • Because space is a vaccum, whether you freeze or boil depends on the amount of sunlight you get and, generally speaking, boiling is easier than freezing. But if there is no incoming radiation, and no local heat source, you will eventually radiate away your heat. On the other hand, of you are in sunlight, the hat is difficult to get rid of. One reason why space suits are white and have silvered windows.
