  • Impatient or disapproving adults? ;-)
  • Children go through an ordeal learning to potty because their bodies do not signal a filling bladder. Their bodies only send the signal once the bladder is full. It is a great inconvenience at times, but you do have some measure of control. Before leaving the house, have the child sit on the toilet EVEN IF they don't feel the urge to go. Bring Pull-Ups (or similiar) and a change of clothes in case of an accident. Before the child runs to you in a panic, make a conscious effort to ASK the child if he/she has to potty all throughout the day. This helps alert them to learning to recognize what a filling bladder feels like, and it also sets them up for success with you, which is priceless :) +5
