Smacking is kind of annoying, but talking with their mouth full is just rude.
-
If their mouth is open and they are eating and talking at the same time, yes, it bothers me a little. More than anything I just think they're uncouth and rude.
-
Yes and yes. You left out slurping liquids.
-
Yes. It's gross!
-
bad manners all the way! and I will tell them point blank to shut their mouths while eating... its rude and gross to the max
-
I only mind if they're smacking me. Otherwise I don't even notice.
-
It doesn't bother me, but it makes me think they're disgusting.
-
I think it is terrible, the rudest, most disgusting thing done while eating, maybe passing gas at the table would be a match to eating with mouth open, yuck!!!
-
Talking with the mouth full doesn't bother me so much but I can't stand smakers OR slurpers.
-
It used to bother me a lot. Then my husband had brain surgery that left the left side of his face paralized. It impossible for him to close his mouth to chew or to use a cup. So, no. It doesn't bother me anymore.
-
Yes, it is almost like the sound of nails on a chalk board to me, I just have to get away. I don't know why.
-
Yes. Enough said.
-
I don't care if people smack when eating but talking while eating will get you kicked out of my home for not having enough common sense or respect for those eating who are eating with you...
-
I hate noisy eaters. There's not much that winds me up more.
-
Both are even worse than poor grammar!
-
Not if I'm in China.
-
Not really, because I do it myself. Not out of rudeness or apathy, but because the way my jaw bone is I can't help it.
-
Not a good habit to have also bad manners come to mind.
-
Especially thAt part about talking with their mouths full. I have seen prettier garbage dumps in my lifetime.
-
Not particularly. I know some people get turned off by those whose tablemanners aren't perfect but I am not one of them! :)
-
Yes! I haven't seen an old boyfriend for years. And invited him recently for dinner. He mad so much noise!I could hear him in the next room. He never did that before. What Happened to him!lol
-
Oh the smacking the smacking it's making me shudder right now. Never look a stuffed face in the mouth you never know if it will unhinge.
-
Yes! It is nasty, disgusting, and repulsive. Uck!
-
If their food gets in my hair - yes.
-
Disgusting...
-
yes its annoying and gross.
-
I don't care about talking with their mouth full, since I do it too, but smacking gums is down right unattractive.
-
People who talk with their mouths full are just downright rude. And, smacking while eating is pretty irritating. But, what drives me up the wall is the 'slurping' sound made when someone takes a drink EVERY FREAKIN' TIME!! AHHHHH +4
-
If one is not bothered by such lack of manners, he should be. It is disgusting for all others at the table to see the contents of anothers mouth, and to hear his unpleasant noises. One of the doyennes of good manners once said that etiquette is a display of consideration for others.
-
yes, that drives me nuts, if i can't get away i have to say something...
-
No. Because I hate someone scraping their plate with their fork WAY more... SCRAPE SCRAPE SCRAPE....... It's not something I can cover up with my own "smacking" of a good meal:)
-
OH DOES IT! I have an old boyfriend who does it! I was talking to him today and he was smacking while i was on the phone with him!
-
Smacking drives me crazy, they don't seem to know or care that they're doing it.
-
You don't even know the extent in which it bothers me.
-
Both! I have always hated this ever since I was a kid. My mom used to call me Miss Prissy, because I have good table manners. What's interesting is, no one else in my family does, and yet they try to be so sophisticated with everything else. It makes no sense to me.
