  • They're stationary in relation to the earth. A meteorite is a meteor that hits the ground so it stops moving :) However, even meteors might be completely stationary in space, and it's the earth that runs straight into them, causing them to burn up in the atmosphere. Remember, the earth is moving at about 67,000 miles per hour.
  • So fast that their tails are on fire.
