  • “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ.” – Gandhi –
  • They aren't true Christians, or if they are they are not trying hard enough to be "Christ like". It's one thing to talk the talk, etc... It's a tough standard to live up to and most, if not all, fail in some way or another.
  • They are not ALL like that. Wait until you have met ALL of them, before you comment on them. The bad ones give the other 2% a nasty public image.
  • Maybe they haven't got to that part of the Bible that says "Judge not, lest thee be judged".
  • Weeell isn't that special! and who do you think made you think that humm? SATAN? Church Lady is an organ grinder
  • because you live with Christians--all religious people are self-righteous tossers who beg to a god that doesn't exist for extra life.
  • You are living a sheltered life?
  • ....wait a minute I want you to refrase that... You THINK and they THINK they are christians.... There we go, that is better. A christian is known by their actions, and words. Not by the title they claim. A christian is a person who strives to be like Christ. Would Christ be bitchy and stuck up judging people?....No. So are they Christians?...prolly not.
  • I know a wide variety of Christians. Yes, some of the worst people i know are Christians, but some of the best people I know are Christians too. i find dickheads are dickheads regardless of what religion they claim to believe or not believe in.
  • Because when you have the rule book you dont have to figure out any of the answers for yourself. They KNOW their answer is right, and they see no need to investigate and understand WHY the answer is right. That is not a good basis for an applied ethic. It leads to bad choices in specific situations and an ever more strident conviction that "it was really a good choice because God said so" even in the face of obviously disgusting choices. Once you start lying to yourself like that hipocrisy is inevitable and things go downhill from there. regards JakobA
  • The truth is, we are all stuck on this ball together, and none of us is any better than the rest. Some Christians could drown in a decent rainfall, as high as they have thier noses up in the air. Whether the people you meet are Christians or not, if they are ugly to you.....walk away. Nobody needs that kind of crap. Just one last thought....being a Christian is hard as hell! You aspire to adhere to a set of doctrines that are difficult to achieve by any standard, whether you're Christian or not. It's no wonder we look like miserable failures. So, when you have achieved them, let me know. We could use a good role model.
  • Perhaps you need to get out and find some new friends.
  • Sure glad there's no judgment in this question.
  • Hm-m-m-m-m-m, well, now, let's think about this! Is it because they think they're SELF-RIGHTEOUS?!?
  • Because you need better friends.
  • because you already approach Christians with a premeditated ignorance that they are stuck-up?
  • I hate to say it but it seems so many people these days are that way because of the economy. But from my personal experiences in this country that statement has some merit. I really find it sad to have to admit that since Christ preached nothing but love and acceptance.
  • seems to me that you just dont like christians..their very existence bothers you...this seems to be a flaw you posses....as far as bitches are concerned.. I live in a very large city..and bitches come in all sizes, shapes and religions...ignore them....their are decent people in every religion if you look hard enough
  • Woah chill there...although you may be right. Some "Christians" feel like they have it all together so they're on top of the world and better than everyone else. Beware of these type of people. They only want Christianity as a title and not a lifestyle.
  • Because you don't know many people of other religions? Seriously, how many of the people you know aren't "Christian"? Could be you know a lot of so called Christains, which is like a person who knew only Mormons saying the same thing about Mormons. You have a selection bias, meaning you need to meet a wider variety of people before you can make that call.
  • Just religious people in general
  • Probably because you don't know the real ones. Anyone can say they're a Christian. That doesn't mean they are one.
  • Probably because you've not had the opportunity to meet Mormons or Muslims in the flesh.
  • The only person who truly can answer is you.
  • Christians leave it to god to judge. If they're trying to do his job then they can't be Christians. They're just pretending. As for the bitchy and stuck up part, those are human traits and anyone can have them as part of their personality.
  • Being a Christian myself I am sorry to say you are most assuridly correct! I believe this is true because most are taught the law and how to judge others based on that law. They tend to see things only in their own black and white non-understanding premise. They believe if you are not with them you are against them. This is in violation of their commanment, "to love others as themselves". They simple are not taught how to do this. I know there will be "Christians" out there whom will disagree with me...just search your soul with regards to Matt. 22:37-40. Can you truly say you do under ALL circumstances? Be truthful now.
  • You hang out with all christians??? I am sure if you check out the other religions, you will find that there are bitchy people in every religion
  • Perhaps you need to know some better Christians. ;) Seriously though, I know many Christians, both lay people and clergy from a wide variety of denominations and traditions, and I count them among some of my very best friends and some of the most noble and compassionate people I know. And I am not a Christian. My view of Christ and Christianity is very much like that of Mahatma Gandhi. Not that I doubt your statement. After all, if those are the people you know, those are the people you know. And I know exactly the types you mean. Everyone is prone to error. *Everyone.* But there are some people who call themselves Christian that think that as long as they are "saved" they can continue to make a habit and lifestyle of being, among other things, bitchy, elitist and judgmental. I don't consider these people Christian. I call them christianist in the same way that we refer to islamists. These are people who do not know the heart of their faith. They do whatthey think are all of the right things, according to their understanding or what they've been told. But they forget to allow the true heart and spirit of Christ to dwell in their own hearts. I had a friend of that type many, many years ago. He was an utter ass and quite often bitchy and mean to people. He was deep into the evangelist mindset. I once called him on his nastiness and his reply to me, with a totally straight face and condescending attitude, was, "Christians aren't perfect, M. We're just forgiven." He was one of those people, and there are many, who believed that as long as you were "saved" you had license to be any way you wanted as long as you professed Jesus, witnessed, attended church and quoted biblical scripture. No matter what, you were still going to "Heaven."
  • How do you know they are Christians? Because they say they are? There may be a chance that these people who are bitchy, judgmental and stuck-up are also liars. My opinion is that if you are a non-Christian and these people are truly Christian, you are judging incorrectly.
  • How do you know they're Christians to begin with? A true Christian adheres to Scripture. "Judge not, lest ye be judged." (Matthew 7:1)
  • That's being kind of bitchy, stuck-up and judgmental.
