When the sale seems just too good to be true. Like, buying a $950.00 riding lawnmower, for $100 dollars, from an unknown person. Your conscience should be sending you a red flag that this deal is too good to be true. Is it stolen? The decision is now up to you. walking away could prevent you from spending time in jail for possession of stolen property. Feel lucky?

When you realize that you are being conned and know that the "sale" item can be readily purchased elsewhere at a cheaper price. Some merchants do that all the time...and they're merchants I stay away from. When the tag on the item says something like "Regular Retail Price $350.00 OUR price $19.95"! Also, when you're going broke "saving money"! +5

When you don't need what they are selling. Or when they try to talk you into financing with high interest or extended warranties. If a company doesn't have the confidence to cover the product themselves without selling you an extended warranty, why should I have any confidence in it?
