Why do women insist on taking 40 minute showers???....mine lasts 5 minutes and I get just as clean as they.

My wife and I are the other way around...I take 30 min showers she takes 5-10. I guess I have a tendency to just sort of zone out in there.

I have never taken a shower that lasted more than 10 minutes!! My husband takes longer showers than I do!

No one here takes 40 minute showers unless they want to use cold water! My hot water heater is only 6 gallons!

I LOVE long showers..It takes me a bit to get motivated to get in, but once i do i don't wanna get out. The only reason it takes a while to get motivated is because my mother uses the bath tub as her personal dirty clothes hamper and i have to empty the damned thing every time. :p

They have more to shave then men. But I take longer than 5 minute showers. I shave in the shower rather than the sink so it takes a little longer.

Can us girls ever keep you guys happy? we dont take the time to shave, legs underarms, anything else then we get complaints about it.... then we do take the time to shave it and keep ourselves well groomed and we also get complaints about it?? haha make up your mind guys =]

Even when I wash my hair it only takes about 15 minutes and the shaving also.

My wife takes about 15 min unless she shaves then its about 30 min. I take 10-15 min unless I have been a dirty boy and need to clean myself, then its 11-16 min, LOL.

NOT this woman. I can be in and out and hair done and make up on in 20 mins. if I HAVE to. Late for work??? I can be done in under 20 mins. . My showers are short and sweet unless given the right opportunity to make them last longer. . It usually takes me 30 mins start to finish. . +5

When I take long showers, it's probably because I'm thinking about something or something like that. It's one of the only times I'm not around people and I have time to myself. It is sooo relaxing!

Anyone taking a 40 minute shower would have to have a HUGE water heater and would emerge all puckery.

I take only 10 minutes unless I wash my hair and then it takes 15 minutes.....the husband is the one who takes about 30 minutes or more.

It's not only women and not all women.. My showers last 45 minutes to an hour because I love standing in the water. If I really need to take a shower immediately because we're going somewhere, I can do it easily in 3-4 minutes.

Between shaving the girly bits and the shower head, my husband is lucky I *only* take a forty minute shower. The shower is the only place I don't have to clean up a mess, make a decision, answer my phone, or deal with the general demands of life. It's my happy time, and I'll take as much time as I need. :)

ok, I wash my hair, put on conditioner which has to stay on for 5 minutes, rinse, shave my legs, armpits and *&^^%*^*, wash my body, use my facial scrub, peppermint scrub on my feet, and masterbate. any other questions?

i don't know about other women but i don't have 40 minutes to take a shower...if i have 40 minutes i will soak in a relaxing bubble bath.

Are you kidding? After about 20 minutes my hot water runs out. The landlords have it set that way for some reason. I can take an entire shower, shave, wash hair and all in 20 minutes. Must be nice to take a 40 minute shower

You've got a few inches of chin to shave, women have a few feet of legs to shave. Then on top of that they are expected to do armpits and some do "bikini lines" too. That takes some time.

Well I don't take 40 minutes in the shower.. probably 20 or 30.. I have a lot of hair that I shampoo and condition twice, because its curly, and I use a lot of product in it. I want to make sure its clean. I have to condition, otherwise I can't get a brush through it. Shaving takes up a fair amount of time, too..

Do you shave your legs?...your pubs?...pits??? possibly your whole body (some people need to) Do you clean under your toenails...fingernails? Do you shampoo AND condition...or use a 2 in 1? ...or just a bar of soap? If it were as easy to jump in use soap on my body...and then also in my hair...i would be out in 5 minutes too.

Hey! I'm a woman and I typically take around 7 in the shower. And my thick ass hair takes like 5 to freakin' condtion most days. I can shave pretty damn quickly, too

Wow! I was going to ask this question but the other way around. I want to know why the men in my life take 40 minute showers when I can be done in 5, maybe 6 or 7 when washing my hair.

Though not 40, my wife's showers used to always be at least 20 minutes. A FAST one would be 14. It would be really annoying when we were already late.

sorry. i disobey the laws. i manage to do all the girl stuff in 4-5 minutes. then my next shower i have is 2. then 4-5. then 2 etc.... i mean water crisis everyone!

Some women have really long hair, but those girls told me it only takes 30 minutes to shower. The other reason suppose is they wanna enjoy a hot shower, and what little time they have to themselves.

Because women have to wash and conditon their hair! I wash with shampoo then rinse, which takes a couple of minutes - then put conditioner in it - and you have to leave that a few minutes.... I do all the other stuff whilst this is happening - then I take a couple of minutes to rinse off! I dont take 40 mintues though.... maybe 10? - 15 at the most. x

I used to take really long showers, but now I take five minute showers because I'm obsessed with going green. Women like the idea of being clean..well the shower part.. I have to shave my legs that are so long..and my hair takes forever to get right.

i don't take 40 min showers but i wonder, do you shave your legs, bikini area and arm pits? do you condition your hair or remove the callouses from your heals? not in 5 minutes you don't!

I don't take 40 minutes but I usually spend the first ten minutes having some "special" time with my shower massage, then there is all that shaving and shampooing and conditioning etc. I love my showers.

Because it's the only damned time I get to mySELF! It's the hour bathing ritual thrice a week or paying for a massage and pedicure twice a month. Hubby's choice. He picked the less expensive option.

You just get clean, while they get clean + beautiful. Perhaps they don't place the same value on the same things you do, such as efficiency and/or water conservation. Maybe they place a high value on being soft and clean and beautiful, because you enjoy and reinforce that. It might be a good idea to discuss your values, or get a water-conserving shower head so the length of time she needs doesn't matter as much. I take very fast showers, btw - way faster than my husband.

first, depending on the time of the month they may be feeling some discomfort in the internal reprodutive equipment, which may be helped by a long shower. or they may have an itch to scratch, which may be helped by a long shower alone ;-) or with a friend. plus the whole shaving thing. and women are a bit like cats, they ENJOY their relaxation time.
