  • Redistrubute wealth is a typical socialist's trait. Why do you think socialist countries are poor? - that is what they do - redistribute wealth. There is no motivation to work hard - they earn bearly enough to make a basic living. I lived under socialism system most of my life. That is how I know. :)
  • Haha, I can't give you any facts to prove he's not.
  • he has taken over the auto industry and plans to socialize our medicine. He speaks often of "redistributing the wealth". Sounds like socialism to me and to Stalin.
  • the only ones who think that Obama is a socialist or a communist are Right winged Republicans who hate to see a fairer deal for ALL the people in the U.S. rather than the top 2 or 3% of the red necked rich who under the Republicans got untold tax breaks at the expense of the middle and lower class of tax payers
  • Public health, the people owning GM.
  • Why would that be so bad anyway? "Only 53% of American adults believe capitalism is better than socialism. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 20% disagree and say socialism is better. Twenty-seven percent (27%) are not sure which is better. Adults under 30 are essentially evenly divided: 37% prefer capitalism, 33% socialism, and 30% are undecided. The generational change here is interesting. I think it reflects the fact that on a basic level “socialism” is good branding. The whole idea is that we should put society first rather than capital, or money. That sounds good! But in the United States we never had a Socialist Party so “socialism” was primarily associated with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics which was not at all good. But to people under 30, there’s less of that old resonance. And saying that Obama, who’s popular, is a “socialist” may simply tend to make people have warmer feelings toward the word “socialism.”" Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-baiting
  • I just got several anon DR's on this. How should I interpret that? Why are so many people threatened by asking a question?
  • Sure nationalizalizionig the auto industry, heakth industry, banking industry anyone that is not economically a retard would know these things, holy something people are stupid these days.
  • I personally don't think Obama has crossed the line into socialism with a more aggressive stance of wealth redistribtuion. If the wealth distribution becomes too skewed then you end up with a nation ruled by aristocrats. The rich and the powerful have the ability to repress people by abusing the system. Take a look at what happened when Wallstreet things aren't properly regulated. Finance becomes legalized bank robbery. You have financers walking away with millions to billions, and leaving a mess for the bulk of the population to cover (the middle and the poor). Power and money come hand in hand, and more of it comes easier when you already have it. Some more redistribution is necessary; you could argue it went too far. You say redistribution will undermine the working class's motivation, but also note this: if you don't give the poor and middle class a fighting chance then you undermine their motivation as well, and slow down the US's economic engine, which is the poor and middle class.
  • "spread the wealth" Fired the GM CEO. How many czar has he put into place?
  • Im starting to think maybe we should just give up. Let what happens happen and let them learn from their mistakes. Note: I'm not clarifying on my use of "them". Think what you want.
