I've been told that I sound very professional until I realize that I know the person on the other end of the phone.

Yes. When recording my outgoing voicemail message, I was told I sound like a computer. LOL! "Hello! And Welcome To Movie Phone!!!" ; )

No, I remember an old boss complaining because I used the same voice when on the phone as I did in normal conversation; I told him it's the only voice I have....

-
Yes i do because i work at a call center and now i speak very proffesionally on the phone most of the time.

Yes, I do, sorta. It actually just happens when I'm nervous, so it's not completely limited to when I'm on the phone, but I don't conciously do it, either. I once worked for an answering service and when one of the clients called, I answered the phone with my higher "phone voice" and when I realized it was the client, I dropped back down to my normal pitch. He was very confused and asked if I was training in a new girl, but I told him it was just me. He remarked that my voice is extremely different and that it was interesting that I could do that. Take care :)
