• This is not a specific answer to your question, but a referral to a source that can answer it for you I believe. I took a course from a Stanford neurosurgeon professor through what is called, "The Teaching Company" entitled something like, "The biology of the brain and how it relates to individuality." He discussed the physical makeup of the neuron including the dendrites, axon, axon helix, terminals, etc. He also discussed much more such as the limbic system or part of the brain dealing with feelings, sensory versus motor neurons, synapses (what they are how they work).
