Would doing cocaine (snorting it) affect the results of a throat culture to detect strep throat?

Coke is harmful to the entire nasal passage into the throat, but I dont think it could stop a Strep from showing up.

If you snorted cocaine right before a throat culture- so soon that your throat is still coated with the drainage of cocaine and saliva- it could affect the growth of bacteria on the culture. It would probably not affect it enough to kill all the bacteria, though. The tests are sensitive enough to detect any growth of the target bacteria and would surely pick up your infection.

Step will def remain in your throat after snorting cocaine. Streptococcus (strep) multiplies rapidly within the warm moist environment of the throat and the slightest amount on a culture stick will render the results positive.
