  • Luckily I ony have one prescription. Costs me $50 a month now, was $35 last year. I could live without my medication and if I lose my health benefits, I could do without it.
  • My wife and I have a special way of dealing with health care costs. We avoid getting sick. Health insurance? A distant dream.
  • I'm fortunate that I have good insurance from work, even so, all the prices went up this year and it's gotten pretty costly. I have no idea how people without prescription coverage can afford to buy it. People shouldn't have to choose between their meds and other necessities, this is an issue that isn't going to go away and needs to be fixed.
  • There are times when I can and others I can't ..
  • I am. Contact the makers of the drug and ask about their assistance programs.
  • i am blessed to have a company that pays 100% on health insurance.the plan is good on perscriptions.
  • I get my medical care and Rx from the VA..
  • No, not really. If I take all that Im' supposed to and purchase it each month, it will cost more than the total of my bills each month. I would be able to buy it with my savings for some time, but then be totally broke. I've tried to change some of them to the $4 Walmart prescriptions, but can't do all. I lost my insurance 2 1/2 years ago and have tried to apply with several different companies. Because I had a heart operation a few years ago and some medical issues like asthma, allergies, high blood pressure; the cheapest quote I got was $2,800.00! I wonder if that miracle worker Obama will come to my rescue!
  • I had to get an unusual about of help when it comes to my meds and the price is manageable with it these days.
  • Yes, it is subsidised by the government and if people are on welfare they only pay a few dollars;0)
  • The prices of medicine have gone up by 10 times overthe past 20 years here in India. But we must buy them whether we can afford them or not. It is all part of the inflation. Must suffer it. No other way.
  • I have had to quit most of my Asthma medicine because of the hefty prices.
  • Not without insurance - the cost is $60 for one months worth
  • Without insurance it would be right around $92 for each month, I could afford it but who would want to spend 90 dollars each month on medicine?
  • As long as I can keep the insurance, yes. If I lost the insurance, no I could not. At the moment the store pays my insurance in full. With insurance mine is $45.00 a month, without it is $260.00 a month.
  • Here in NZ, if you're either on a benefit or have an income below a certain limit, you are entitled to a Community Services Card, with which one can get subsidized prescriptions at just NZ$3 per item. Doctor consultation costs have also recently been reduced to a more affordable level for everyone (not just those with CSC). We hardly ever go to the Dr, but was pleasantly surprised when daughter (20) needed to go a few weeks ago and adult consult is now only $16, making the decision of whether to go or not, a little easier.
  • My husband and I are both covered by insurance plans from our employment and we have co-ordination of benefits, so after we pay the annual dedutibles, our meds are basically free to us.
  • As long as I have my insurance, I can! But, if I ever lost my insurance, (I am on so many medications), there is no way I could afford it! About 6 weeks ago, I figured the costs of my Rx's, and checked that against my insurance, the $4 programs that several stores have gone to, and a prescription program I can use (it's a program thru my newspaper, that subscribers can use (if they subscribe, it's free, with a special card), and it saves you 30 to 80% off the cost of generics at many pharmacies). I changed 3 of my normal Rx's to the $4 generics (the others, I couldn't). But, w/o insurance, I would pay almost $600 a month! I don't know what I would do, if I didn't have insurance!
  • It depends. I found a generic med for some of my med. Generic is much cheaper.
  • The sad thing is people in the U.S. cannot get drugs cheaper from Canada. It is like our government protects or cares more for the drug companies than the people.
  • It's getting harder.... the meds. keep going up and the insurance (if you have it) keeps covering less & less with higher deduct. than ever.
  • I am Canadian and I have insurance that pays a high percent of it. Thank Goodness.
  • There are advantages to being old!
  • Viagra got that expensive? My meds are $30.00 a month. Prescription card.
