  • Isn't there some debate amongst mathematical theorists as to if zero / 0 is actually a number? If something is nothing how can it be counted or referred to as something... etc etc. The word zero can be counted, as can the number of zeros attached to another number as in both of these cases they represent something (e.g. a word; decimal extension of a base number), but not nothing as nothing is nothing, not even a number... maybe.
  • - "0"/ "zero" is an answer - "nothing" is another answer. In the first case, I am adding numbers in arithmetic (I just used two different notations for the same number). In the second case,"adding nothing" should be understood as "not adding anything". This is actually an abuse of language for the mathematical definition of addition, but I guess that most people would consider this valid.
