  • I am getting to the point where I feel like I need to keep everything to myself. People get so bent out of shape about every lil damn thing. There are some miseable people out there. I am sure there is someone that will make an issue about me saying SOME people...I have had that happen. sheesh....
  • Respecting anyones religion is my first priority because the Wife and I are non-religous.
  • Not sure what you're asking here but no religious beliefs here, there or anywhere, that's for sure
  • I know where you're coming from, you can get slated by some users who don't agree with you, but, I personally will still voice my opinions (however zany) regardless of what others think, lifes too short to worry about what you think others think about you!!
  • No not exactly. I don't like to debate my beliefs too much on here. I avoid most religious questions.
  • Yeah, I feel the same way. Well...not exactly. I'm not religious, but I do think it's lame that a person can't talk about something religious on here, without getting attacked by someone. For instance, a question like: 'How often do you pray?' There's always one guy that responds: 'I'm an athiest and would never pray. I find praying stupid, blah, blah, blah.' He then goes on to harass every other person on the thread. I personally would rather not get envolved in those questions anymore because of this.
  • Not at all....I get it from both sides. From the religious because I am an atheist, and from the Atheists because I defend religion...I do find however that many Christians are not very well schooled in what the bible says. In fact, I dare say most self described Christians cannot properly recite the Ten Commandments. So I find conversations on the Bible enjoyable with both non believers and believers... http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2024000
  • It's frustrating because I repsect everyone's right to hold an opinion and don't judge others for what they believe, but you have a few immature people here who think their belief, or lack of belief, is the only opinion that should count. I don't let them bother me.
  • Politics and religion don't necessarily play well on AB. In this anonymous venue, people tend to get a little nasty.
  • Sometimes, but not always. The longer I'm on AB however, I find myself caring less and less whether someone knows my religion or not. (I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints a.ka. The Mormon Church, btw) If someone asks a specific question about my faith, or attacks it (which happens often) I will answer. I try to be as kind and fair as possible without getting too defensive, although I'm not perfect and I'm sure I don't come across that way all of the time. I always try to show respect to others and their beliefs. Debating religion is part of the fun of AB as long as it is done respectfully.
  • Not at all! I am a member of the Church of Latter-day Druids and I am very proud of it!
  • Yeah, if you want to get berated, blasted, and cussed just say you believe in God. Me personally, I don't care what you believe in. It is your personal deal. If I stated my beliefs I would get blasted from both sides so I try to stay away. Like someone said already some questions are just baits. Politics are not fun either.
  • No. I think religious differences are prevalent in the world and often at the root of unrest, bigotry, evil and war. Learning to listen to others speak about their beliefs, finding areas of commonality, learning to express one's own beliefs without arrogance are all worthy pursuits. We MUST learn to live in the same world and Answerbag can serve as a foundation.
  • I know EXACTLY what you mean. If there is one thing I have learned during the past year on AB it is this: Having anything that even remotely resembles a religious belief is to open yourself up to sanctimonious ridicule, scorn, blatant hostility, and condescending hypocrisy. (There is something particularly loathesome about someone who demands that world respects their right to NOT believe, but refuses to afford the same respect to those who DO believe....) For the most part I try to avoid falling into the endless abyss of misery that is the religion category, but I will often answer specific questions about Catholicism if the question appears to be sincere.
  • Heck no as I'm pretty much undecided what my religious beliefs are to be honest. :) Whatever a persons beliefs are they should feel that they can express them in any situation
  • Not really. There are some questions that clearly are intended to instigate between people of differering beleifs which are probably best avoided but there are many others that turn out to be very amical conversations about beliefs and religion.
  • Keep to myself. Too many people give minus points for opinions. I made a harmless joke about the Bible the other night and got thumped
  • There is no doubt that when ever you put out a religious or political believe someone is going to down rate you! But that doesn't stop me. I am not here just for the points i am here for answers to questions..like the site says ANSWERBAG.. Thanx
  • No, these things need to be talked about. The only reason people don't like to talk about this is because they are afraid of confrontation and opposition of their beliefs, and also downratings. But thats not entirely what this website is about, its about the people on it.
  • I come here to have fun so I stay away from religious questions. I learned early on that believing in God only resulted in name calling here. I don't need the grief or the insults. So I skip them now.
  • I talk freely regarding my beliefs, the thing I refuse to do is argue about it. That's the same on AB, or anywhere. Good question!:):)
    • Rick Myres
The Bible says do not argue. I don't like to anyway. 2 Timothy 2:23-24
  • 100 percent Yes , I want to enjoy myself here on AB , not get Bashed -- + up
  • No but I really wish religious people could respect the opinions of others. Some do but a lot dont.
  • It's a wise decision.
  • Where ever I am I keep my religious believes to myself, except when I go to church.
  • in my opinion religion is a farce.THE PREACHERS SCAM YOU WITH A FALSE STORY, COLLECT THEIR TAX FREE MONEY FROM YOU AND MOLEST YOUR CHILDREN ALONG WITH FILL THEIR MINDS WITH LIES.
  • Oh, yeah!
  • i dont talk about my beliefs on here unless someone asks
  • Did Jesus keep his information to himself? No. He has always wanted to save people from their own bad judgements. " AND THEN THE END WILL COME" FAIR WARNING !!!
  • No. All J.W's are under this instruction direct from Jesus...and he got his instruction from his father Jehovah... (Matthew 28:19, 20) Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.
  • It is ' best' to be obedient to Jesus and spread the good news via any medium... (Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. The ' end' WILL come and after that there will be no more preaching...because there won't be any wicked to preach to... (Psalm 37:9) For evil men will be done away with, But those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth.
  • no, i always keep them to myself
    • Rick Myres
What are you gonna do when He convicts you to tell others?
  • Did Jesus keep the knowledge of the Kingdom to himself? No. He first chose the twelve, and they in turn chose others...to tell the whole world... Just how many people can be involved...? Jesus prayed for more workers...in the field...and he was not talking about wheat...he meant people. (Matthew 9:37) Then he said to his disciples:
  • Knowing this question is under RELIGIONS: the only way religious people would keep it to themselves is if AB did not have a religious category. Every time a religious question is posted, it is asking for religious answers.
  • No way. Jesus said if we don't share the rocks will. I love the Lord and gladly share.
