  • Not me! I tell the young folk in my family, "Don't listen to me! And, for the love of god!, don't do as I do, did, or will do!"
  • No because I'm generally pretty blunt, and honest... some accept it, and some hide, but thats okay I didnt like them anyway :)
  • My parents were that way. What confusing hypocrisy for the child!
  • My parents used it and I swore I never would. But I do. Im sure we all will someday when we really dont know how else to get a point across to our kids when we're doing the exact same evil to ourselves.
  • I used it about 3 days ago when chatting to an ABer. I asked him did he believe in "Do as I say, not as I do", because that was how he was acting.
  • Yep. Christians. All the time
  • Neither had I been told, nor I use this rude statement, since I am a kind of guy who says: Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.
  • my friends parents used to tell them this all the time. they still did as their parents did anyways and not as they said.
  • Yes I was certainly told that when I was a child. I do not believe I have ever used the expression, at least I hope I would not.
  • No..never. Nor have I ever pulled that on my son. Talk about the height of hypocrisy...a parent who smokes tells his kid all about the evils of smoking as he/she keeps puffing away...sure and the kid will take it to heart and never smoke..yeah, right! :)
  • I hate when people say that. It shows how weak they are and how little they believe in what they are professing. If they want someone to do something, they should prove it doable by doing it themselves.
  • I have been told it and I have said it more times then I could count.
  • No .. never !!
  • I got told that a LOT when I was a kid. It was so confusing. I don't use that statement to kids, tho. I don't do things that they shouldn't be imitating- at least not in front of them.
