I don't care! Mr Bill
-
I think I respect you for what you are but don't respect you for what you say
-
I think we'd get along just fine. :o) of course, we wouldn't discuss religion. This is what polite people do.
-
It sounds good to me...
-
whatever floats your boat...just don't try and change mine
-
Sounds about right
-
Amen!
-
I'd say I'll respect your right not to believe if you respect my right to believe. We each have different opinions, that's all
-
Right to believe does not mean right to tell me about it.
-
to each his/her own. respect is key
-
Sounds fair enough to me.
-
As long as you're not rude about your disrespect for my religious beliefs, or try to shove your lack of respect for my beliefs down my throat, I could care less. To each his own.
-
I would restate that. As it stands, it does not make sense to me. How about this... you respect one's rights to a specific belief, but you do not share those beliefs or embrace those beliefs. I don't think it is necessary to state that you don't respect the beliefs of those whose rights to those beliefs you respect..doesn't it sound like doubletalk to you? :)
-
Then the best thing is for us not to talk. Since God created us and can destroy us we need to be able to discuss us. I have freedom of speech..at least for the next 2 1/2 months!
-
That's self-contradictory.
-
I would say that is not a nice way to ask because we should give every one thoughts respect as well... I would agree much more with you if you asked "I respect your right to religious beliefs but I do not want to know about your beliefs" or "your beliefs are not important to me" Respect is welcome at any time and place.
-
eh...how do i say this umm just because you dont believe in what other people believe in doesnt mean you shouldnt respect it. I respect everyones beliefs. Hell you wanna believe your God is a woman with 6 arms or w/e then go right ahead, i mean they prob feel the same way about you. They prob think you're weird for believing in your religion. I love how diverse this country is...i love the different cultures and beliefs and its really sad that not everyone is as open minded. Just because we have different beliefs doesnt mean that you should be disrespectful..
-
Whatever.
-
nah, i don't agree so much. i think we should respect people's beliefs - it's pretty much the same thing as respecting that person. disrespect breeds ill will. we don't have to believe someone else's beliefs to respect them.
-
I could care less if anyone respects my beliefs or not. Why do I need validation from others? It's when your arbitrary beliefs cause you to pass laws that ethically trample on my rights, that's when you can expect trouble.
-
Absolutely no problem with that. I probably feel the same about you, so lets talk about the weather and sports and we'll get along just fine.
-
hey lets keep religion and politics out of the pub shall we? ;)
-
But we must respect it because if you respect it, will you lose what? Respect is just respect. Good is just good. I think you are not on a good way. Thanks
-
Good for you...
-
The feeling is mutual.
-
As long as you don't try to keep someone from worshipping....Fine!
-
(shrugs) I don't really care. I don't really need anyone else's respect.
-
That your like a lot of people.
-
I think that is a very good start! To continue the thought I would add "Do not in any way cause me to be affected by your beliefs either such as ( but not limited to ) rules, laws or taxes!"
-
Religion stinks.. Abolish it before it kills us all.
-
May I rephrase your question as my answer? ' I may not agree with or respect your religious believes, but I will defend your freedom to believe in your religion with all my might '.
-
I think that is a step in the right direction. But a more elemental statement would be: I respect you as a human being and as a direct result of this I respect + Your basic human rights including that of your freedom of religion + Your religious beliefs (within reason) even though I may not agree with or approve of them With love in Christ.
-
Sounds fair to me :)
-
I think you have every right to have that stance. I can see of no reason why you have to respect the content of particular beliefs. I don't. Quite a lot of religious beliefs are patently abhorrent to me.
