I am from Illinois, and I thought I knew that the cardinal was our state bird. but since you said it was Kentucky's I did a yahoo search it turns out the the cardinal is the state bird of.... Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. Seven states altogether.
