I once went for three years without toast. All things considered, the deprivation made me a stronger person, but I won't kid you - those were bleak days. I won't even get into what the evenings were like. You don't want to know.

I love it!

Jodie, I can truly practically live on toast. Seriously, some days I get up and just eat 4 or 5 pieces of toast with butter. I can come home from work some days and eat a 4 or 5 pieces of peanut butter toast.

Yeah, you could say I'm quite the 'toast' fan. :) Rye, wheat, white, multigrain, hell I even eat toasted hamburger buns if that's what is around!

Leave someone as warm and sweet and funny and kind as you are out of my life, Misstarrie? No way. I'd rather slit my own throat.
I guess that's a little too visceral, huh? LOL. Figuratively speaking, of course.

THAT is a scary thought.....but THanks....LOL :)

I don't have it all of the time (usually english muffins), but I do like toast. Especially with some tasty jelly or fruit butter (I have some yummy raspberry butter right now!) I made grilled cheese sandwiches for supper tonight, does that count? LOL!

In my honest opinion, I feel that toast tastes better than un-toasted bread but hurts the sides of my mouth when I try to eat a toasted sandwich whole. On the other hand, it is less obvious when a sandwich is soggy if the bread is not toasted.

Mmmmmmmmmmm toast. With butter and jam...Mmmmmmm. Well you can't have grilled cheese without toast! Otherwise you'd just have a plain old cheese sandwich. Without toast we wouldn't have the croutons that we now have today! Or tuna melts, or french toast! Oh my god, what would life be like without toast?!! Quizno's would go out of business and Subway would dominate the cold sandwich market!!!... MASS HYSTERIA I TELL YOU!!!! MASS HYSTERIA WOULD ENVELOPE THE GLOBE! Every one will have to resort to eating bagels and english muffins, and the occasional donut.

Well, yes, we're acquainted. We've spent some time in the toaster together, feeling the heat, getting plastered (wither butter) and I enjoyed his crunchy ways. Okay, so I am more than a little fond of him. I can't wait for our next visit, maybe in the morning, sourdough that he is:-)

I love toast. As noted in my comments to Drastic's impressive answer ("Toast can be quite toasty") I'm pretty sure that Drastic and I were born to eat toast.

I nominate Milton's Multi-Grain Bread as Best Toast on the Planet.
