  • It depends on what country you're in. In the US, you become an young adult when you turn 18, and a legal adult when you turn 21.
  • it depends on your definition, for example; in ancient Greece a child was considered an adult when (for boys) they started to produce semen (11-14yr), and (for girls) after their first period. but these days we define "adult" by law. and it is when you become a certain age, depending on the country.
  • Remember there is a differnce between being an adult, age of consent, and having the brain of an adult. some people migh be 18 andsexually advacnced..but their mind is far behind!
  • what is a child? what is an adult? why?
  • There is NO objective black and white line. It's a grey area. Different cultures make an educated guess and than say "you're an adult at this age, end of story. Now act like it." sometimes forgetting that, in the most practicle terms, entry into an adult state of mind is and always will be arbitrary. In America it's 18. In reality, I have a hard time considering an eighTEEN year old an adult, in fact I've rarely ever met an adult under 22.
  • when its not a child anymore. 18
