Count the number of times each light flashes and refer to the table for information about the error condition. The following table describes the possible error conditions: Lexmark Z55 and Z65: Paper Tray 1 Light Power Light Error Condition 0 2 Carrier Stall 0 4 Print Incomplete 1 2 Cartridge Short 2 1 Incorrect Home Position Information for recovering from the corresponding error condition is provided below: Carrier Stall The movement of the print cartridge carrier has been obstructed. This is possibly due to an object blocking the carrier path. Error Recovery: 1.Turn the power OFF. 2.Open the front cover. 3.Remove any objects blocking the path of the carrier. 4.Turn the power back ON. Print Incomplete The print cartridge carrier has stopped in the middle of a print job. There is still more data to print. Error Recovery: 1.Turn the power OFF. 2.Open the front cover. 3.Remove any objects blocking the path of the carrier. 4.Turn the power back ON. 5.Try sending the print job again. Cartridge Short The printer has detected a short circuit in a cartridge. Error Recovery: 1.Turn the power OFF. 2.Open the front cover. 3.Turn the power back ON. The print cartridge carrier should move to the install position located in the middle of the printer. 4.If it does not, close and reopen the cover: 5.Remove the color print cartridge. 6.Close the cover. 7.If there is no error indicated by flashing lights, the color cartridge has short-circuited. 8.However, if you continue to get an error, repeat steps 1-3, and then go to step 9. 9.Remove the black print cartridge and reinsert the color cartridge. 10.If there is no error indicated by flashing lights, the black cartridge has short-circuited. 11. If you continue to receive an error in both cartridge scenarios, both print cartridges have short-circuited. Incorrect Home Position The print cartridge carrier has failed to move to the left side (home position). Error Recovery: 1.Turn the power OFF. 2.Remove any objects blocking the path of the carrier. 3.Physically push the carrier to the left side (home position). 4.Turn the power back ON.
