  • There's always a black puma cat in the South Downs. There was one there 40 years ago. Maybe it's the same one. Where I live we have big black bears. A little disconcerting when we're off for a walk.
  • Nope. I live in New Zealand and the most harmful thing we get around here is THE POLITICIANS! We don't have any wild/poisonous insects, snakes, big cats etc...:D

Wow don't you have any dangerous animals in NZ? I'm from the UK and it's boring here too apart from the odd puma or panther.
  • No not really a few rampant Squirrels that live in a near by cemetary oh and a owl that i hear hooting at night:-)
  • Is that black cat STILL roaming the South Downs - that rumour is donkeys' years old - someone must be feeding that kitty ;0)
  • Seen it a few yeas ago around friston forest moving into a thicket. I was shooting rabbets at the time, already got a few in the same area. Stopped for lunch, looked up as I caught movement in my perhiferal vision and caught the hind quarter of a black cat moving into the bushes. It was big and you could see the definition of the muscles on its hind quarter shining. long sleek black tail. It was like, oh I am actual looking at this, Is this real? no no that is defiantly quite big. Never got a look at the front half but I walked over to where it dissaperd and the branch that it ducked under was up to my waste.
  • We have "Coy-dogs" in New Hampshire. They are interbred coyote-domestic dogs that roam through the woods and kill livestock. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coydog
  • We have the "Grassman" which is a more violent version of Bigfood or Sasquatch. It hangs out in highly wooded areas of course (as opposed to skyscrapers) like state parks. http://www.bigfootencounters.com/creatures/grassman.htm

In what way is "Grassman" violent Cassandra? I've never heard of him.
  • I live in Maine, USA. There's nothing strange here except for the small family of mountain lions(which the state says don't exist in Maine), the wolves migrating South from Quebec(which the state says don't exist in Maine) and the wolf/coyote hybrids(which the state says doesn't exist in Maine). Nope...nothing strange here. lol :)
  • There was a derelict, uninhabited "haunted house" near where we were fishing and we went to explore. In what was the living-room, the floor was littered with decapitated corpses of a variety of animals. There was seagulls, hedgehogs, crows, pigeons, rats, rabbits, etc. Rumours were going around our fishing mates that something big was stalking the wood we were camped in. One night I went to the pub by myself and decided it would be a good idea to walk the two or three miles along the train-lines to the pond and surprise my partner who was carping. When I got adjacent to the house, I sensed something big and scary boggling at me from behind. All the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end and shivers ran down my spine. But I kept my cool and just carried on walking. When I got adjacent to the house or whatever it was is den, I heard this shrill mewling, howling shrieking. It was sounded like young cubs warning their mother of an interloper. The freaky noise and the intense glare on my back stopped when I to the opposite end of the building. I was scared shitless. I'm a billion per cent positive it was a big cat and her cubs. Other people agreed they'd experienced strange sounds and feelings. One mates grandad had his lambs beheaded and eaten. This happened up North near the Humber Bridge though not in the South Downs. Nothing makes sense other than a big cat.
