The sun. After years of lifeguarding as a teen, I developed a sun allergy in my 20s. It's gotten better recently, so I'm hoping I'll outgrow it :D

Some of mine are doozies, raw tomatoes but not cooked tomatoes, celery, licorice, sesame seeds, bananas, oranges, pineapple, coconut, thyme, mushrooms, soybeans....

I'm PA Dutch, for pete's sake, celery was my number one flavoring in my cooking.

I knew a lady that was allergic to one type of salmon. I don't remember which it was but it's like she could eat pink salmon but not red salmon. It made her really ill right away, she almost died once. I wondered, though why she would risk eating ANY salmon but she said it was her favorite fish:-(

Soy or soya because this food is promoted as a health food yet many people are allergic to it, or are intolerant of it.

Foods like bananas and tomatoes for some reason make my mouth break out in a rash when I eat them. It's weird, because they never bothered me before but about the last 10 years, every time I eat them my mouth freaks!

Corn. I had that as an allergy growing up. Since everything's sweetened with corn syrup, it was always diet pop & sugar free candy for me then.

I know of this one person that is actually allergic to strawberries - and only strawberries - all other fruits do not cause any allergic reaction. So, I guess this will be the most unusual food allergy that I know of for now.

I am allergic to the combination of heat and stress. I go into anaphylactic shock. I carry an Epi pen and have been hospitalized for it. In the winter If I stress and get cold all my veins shrink towards the core of my body and my arms look like wax, after I get them rewarmed they are purple for about an hour then turn normal again.
These are not necessarily allergies but are treated by the same meds.

Well, I am allergic to yeast. If I ingest food that contains yeast I can go into Anaphylaxis. So no bread, beer, pretty much no processed foods as many contain autolyzed yeast extract. I developed my allergy in my early 20's so I did a lot of label reading back then and I still do time to time but I pretty stick to a lot of the same foods.

I'm allergic to honey. I also have allergies to peanuts and tree nuts which is not unusual. In addition, I'm allergic to one type of blackberry, cold (yes, the polar opposite of sun which is much more common), MSG, Smokey Flavoring, smoked foods due to the wood, and the assortment of seasonal allergies all four seasons, chemical allergies, dust mites, mold and mildews, cockroach feces, and rodent feces. To top all of this off, I'm lactose intolerance and can not eat any meats except for poultry, fish, and seafood and sugars. Needless to say, my life is pretty "protected," so to speak, and my diet is bland.

A friend at work is allergic to cranberries. A coworker handed her a muffin, and announced free muffins, they're cranberry-orange! She looked at him like, oh goddammit, and had to go scrub her hands.

I'm allergic to many perfumes. They cause me to lose fine motor control, have slurred speech, lose focus, and... well, I've had some people accuse me of being on meth, although they well knew the fact that I'm violently opposed to any form of drug - legal or illegal. I also become very dizzy and light headed. Not exactly fun times. I told the people who accused me of doing meth, "If this is high, I never want to do it!"

I don't know how "unusual"..my son is anaphylactic..he is deathly allergic to walnuts and pecans. His throat swells, he gets huge blisters inside and out and if he doesn't get benadryl or an epi-shot immediately he could die..he has a window of about an hour before his throat swells up completely. I don't how many people react in that way but it has always scared the bejesus out of me..always. :(
