Help answer this question below.
I prefer Dudette
I call everyone and everything "dude", though I usually spell it "dood"
Well it should really depend on the type of person you should refer to as "dude". There are many other people other than Matthew McConaughey who refer to anyone especially girls/women as a "dude". To my knowledge, I believe there's a word instead of "dude" for women; which to my best I believe is "dudet".
Dudette is a girl.
I wouldn't like it if someone called me a dude!!!!
My lesbian friends would like it.My straight friends might have a problem with it!!
hey there .. welcome to answerbag .. hope you enjoy being here.
I'm thinking dude is mostly spoken in relation to guys but seriously who cares
just do your thing dude .. the world will cope :)
i don't see any disrespect unless you add expletives.
I think calling a woman a dude is disrespectful. I wouldn't do it.
I usually use 'Dude' when someone does something stupid. What are ya doing dude?
Guy or girl it fits for stupid acts.Welcome aboard!
Dude, I think anyone could be a dude if they are your dude, dude, ya know?
when I lived in a university town in Kansas I noticed some of the girls called each other dude. But not the guys calling the girls dude.
Welcome to answerbag and..I live outside of a college town and have been called dude so often I started to wonder if I looked like a man..LMAO
I think when Matt McConaughey speaks to anyone.. he calls them "dude".
I guess it depends on the woman.
i call other girls dude all the time! across the board sexes. and welcome to answer bag!
I usually try to use "Dudette".
Welcome to AB! ;-)
I call everyone dude lol, even my gf, but she calls me dude too
Nah, anyone can be a dude..... so long as they're a dude!
I am a girl and i dont mind being called dude unless its by a guy i like
but ive called a girl dude once and she screamed in my face that shes a girl.
I think that if you're a teenager,
sure call anybody a dude,
but when you're older,
I think it's weird to call girls dudes.
But I'm a girl,
and I call other girls dude all the time,
I call my teacher, grandparents, principles, etc, dude all the time. ((:
but I'm a teenager, so who cares.
All is well thank you very much :) And sure I think it can be used for either. It's quite a good general saying like that.
+5
I refer to girls as dudettes.........at least on the streets of NYC I do.......
i usually use it for the male
I call the woman I love "dude" when I'm excited. like
Dude guess what!?
It shouldn't matter if you're comfortable with the person, but some people would get offended.
I address anyone I know as "dude". I don't really care if you call me dude. I know a guy called "Marilin". Names don't really matter with gender anymore, it seems, so why should nicknames or things like "dude" or "mate", whatever those types of names are called.
strictly for men only, i'd be very offended if someone called me that to my face (and yes screaming it at my avatar still hurts you know...)
I dont really say dude at all lol, but if I dont think I'd be that bothered if someone called me dude, and I'm a girl...I said dude to someone yesterday in an answer for the first time in ages, hope she wasnt offended!
Me and my best bud (girl)call each other dude and think nothing else of it. Not to use it as a term of endearment but really to express a point.
I generally call women, well ... women! And guys dudes. Sometimes I'll call female friends "dudettes," but that's just random. : )
Hello anon77. Welcome to AnswerBag!
According to the authorities at my house. (The grand-kids) It is perfectly acceptable to refer to either sex as "dude". It is considered as a term of endearment or camaraderie.
Conversely,(or not) the term "dudette" is also considered the same. Go figure.
depends on the woman but I do use it on both men and women...I don't think its offensive to call me dude.
hello, personally,i dont like that word dude (for a gal) it reminds me of a dude ranch,a dude is for a guyas someone said i like dudette.
I personally don't like being called "dude" by a guy.
never refer to a woman as a dude+5
let us try to use their names to refer to people.
i would say mom to my mother, dad to my father
Tom to Tom
Jane to Jane
and so on...
i just hate getting a headache..
I think the word can refer to anyone now I dont see why a girl/woman would take offense to it
Welcome to AB! :o) On some occasions I don't see why someone can't refer to a woman as "dude". I do it often.
dudette all the way!!
Dude can be used in the male or female persona.
Tis like saying "Hey guys!"
You're addressing all sexes.
Calling a woman dude is not disrespectful, you can call a man or woman this. In the UK it is considered fine anyway.
relly to tell u the truth u can say it as long as theres no dudes arnd because its a turn off but hey thats my opinion
Dude used to mean that you were talking to a guy, but in this new day and age, people use dude when their talking to men or women.
It's just a habbit some people use on everyone, but it is really for a guy. It's also really old by now.
I think technically it's for dudes but I use it for everyone.
I use dude for both sexes. Usually I only say dude when someone does something stupid/spilt my drink/messed up etc. I use it for girls/guys.
What does it mean when a guy ignores you?
