LOL. WOW. THAT WAS GREAT! LOL. Technically, it would be suicide, for like many people can be their own nemesis, a schizo person can develop a personality that threatens the life of an alter persona, I think.

    Haha, oh, wow.

    Umm, I wouldn't think so.

It would have to be one person putting another person in the hostage situation.

Not a personality. lol. Good question though.

Perhaps... from the one making the threat, it probably is a hostage situation because one part could be crying no, while the other just wants it over with...

    To the viewer, not really...

I'm not totally sure, but hey, I tried!

I'd say it's just you average suicide attempt, seeing as two personalities can't have control of the person at the same time.

The scitzophrenic has one on you here.

Because that is seldom the nature of how the disease exhibits itself.

It has at least 30 different classifications. Multiple personalities is only one. and it's kinda rare.

i certainly believe so..every personality has their own characteristics and brain patterns..they come out one at a time but there are personalities that are observers and they see what is going on..since each personality is completely different from the other i believe that one wants to be dead and the others don't..but it's kind of an oxymoron in a way..since mpd comes into play when there is abuse going on..they are manifesting to keep the original person away from it..not to go ahead and kill themselves..does anyone get that? lol

no its not. it considered scizophrenia. usually the only people you see these days with multi personalitys are scizophrinics. but if they threaten to commit suicide, that would really be a common thing considering their condition and mental state.

It would be a suicide since at one point of time he can have only one personality active. Just like a Processor can execute only one instruction at a time. So it would be suicide since that personality is killing himself. Of course the other personalities would also be ended but still he is only one human.

Only one human dies as a result of his own action which is a suicide. :-)

If he just threatened to kill himself, it wouldn't be murder. (Your wording made the question confusing)
If he actually killed himself, it would be a suicide because the murderer killed the victim and himself.

Ummm.... I suppose that depends on which one of us is talking.

    I'm talking.

No you're not, you just got to talk a few minutes ago, It's my turn.

You people aren't helping the poor person with their question....

Does any of that matter? I want to make muffins, but MAEVE won't let me.

I won't let you do what? Oh fine, go make your freaking muffins.

    I WANT TO TALK!!!!

It's not your turn, Nikki, shut up.

Don't tell NIkki to shut up, only I have the authority to do that.

No you don't, you can barely take care of yourself, ROSE.

    You know what?

    What?

    UGH!!!!!

I, Sgatha, would like to interject by saying here, that, in answer to your question, it really depends on how many personalities there are.

What are you talking about, Sgatha?

I'm answering the poor person's question.

    Oh.

So anyway, if there are more than two personalities, the person probably will not be able to commit suicide unless they are dominant. Other wise, I would seek help.

I like that advise, it's very good.

    Thank you.

    Your welcome.

Also; I would seek help anyway.

No, there's no such thing as multiple personalities.... each person has only one brain. It's only psychos think there are more than one person inside of them.

But, in a linguistic sense, you are correct.

being schizophrenic has nothing to do with dissociative identity disorder which is the disease you're talking about

even then it hasn't been really proven.

being schizophrenic has nothing to do with dissociative identity disorder which is what you are speaking about.

Even then, Dissociative identity disorder really hasn't been proven to existence, most of the patients who claim to have this disease had it suggested to them by their therapist they are just playing roles sadly.
