Why do I dislike Evanescence and Amy Lee so much?

Well music is a big part of your life isn't it? You're passionate about music otherwise you wouldn't make it your profession (tell me if I'm wrong). You have strong opinions about what makes good music and what makes bad music. Therefore you would dislike certain bands especially so, in this case Evanescence, just like I'm guessing you would like another band or artist especially so. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, personally I still like Evanescence, despite Fuschia's comments.

I could tell you why I dislike Evanescense if that helps?

Its mainly because it just looks to me like all that nu-metal Linkin Park stuff was really trendy for a while and somebody thought "hey, what about that but...get this... WITH TITS!" .
Thing is there's so much other music in that slightly heavy gothic vein with a female vocal that's done so much better (Queen Adreena, Lacuna Coil, Curve) but the lyrics are slightly more obscure, the music more challenging and the singers not quite as conventionally attractive.

ummm i dont kno mabe your jealous or something... cuz she has a beautiful voice and i neva even met someone that dident like her even if they dont like that kinda music.

Well, I certainly like them at first, until I came to realize that Evanescence had become more than a band, they had grown into an institution. Even when they only had one album worth of material, they were charging $50 for their concerts. They knew who their typical fans were, younger people that clung to the band for a sense of identity. Often those younger listeners hadn't yet discovered the many similar bands out there that never found mainstream success in the US... bands that were around long before Evanescence (Within Temptation, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil).

It took them years to make a follow up CD, and even then it was only a live album (it's almost unheard of for a band's second CD to be a live show).

Because she can't sing. She needs vocal training.

Maybe because your a hater and what to be just like her. She is very beauttiful, and her voice can NOT compare with anyone elses. She puts soul into her singing, and if you dont like that, shut up and talk about something else. She is the most talented person I know.
