Nah that's being very prepared. I usually plan for a trip two days before the actual trip.

    Not at all!

I already have my folders made up for my 2009 trips and one for 2010.

With kids and schedules, putting vacation time in at work, etc. we have to prepare months in advance or it would just be to chaotic. I have, over the last week, been looking at sites on the Interent for our annual February week away. When we come back from that I will probably start looking for our summer vacation. Plus it gives us something to look forward to.

Nope, I like to plan ahead so that I'm ready for anything and arrangements are set for pets. Especially since 9/11 with all the restrictions on travel by air.

I like to plan ahead so I would be guilty. I maybe a little over-excited.

my wife and i planned for about 6 months for our honeymoon on another continent. if you're talking about a country in which a foreign language is spoken, you should take more time. if you're going to a really cool place, there's probably lots to do and, in order to make your time their most efficient, you should plan well ahead. i hope that you enjoy your trip!!!

Yes, but there is nothing wrong with over-excitement. :)

    Around MY house?

It's not so much a sign of over-excitement as it is a sign that we're going to Disney World with the kids!

Sometimes one has to plan that far in advance especially if it's a foreign country . . . by the time one selects the trip, gets all the inoculations one needs, gets the trip paid for, and especially if there's a particular time of year one wants to go. Two months can be appropriate depending upon the destination.
