• Yeah, I know but then what to do with the human need to label and compartmentalize? I love that someone even thought of "pop punk". Lighten up, pal. We live in a culture that sports words like antidisestablishmentarianism. We like to collect pokemons, genres and ten-dollar words.

• It's a teenage thing. Such wordgames are the province of the young, and do not enhance the way the music sounds, at least not to me these days.

• Yes! Exactly, Crazy Angel! I have been doing just that and that really solidified the rationale for my answer to your question in the last couple of years. The indie stuff ( not sure of EMO -- feel free to remind me of what that is [ I have no trouble indicating my ignorance of the various current music styles ] ) -- that indie stuff is almost undefineable . Each artist/group can sound really unique. My most recent favorite was the album " Close" by the group Mad Season. [ I think it's called "Close" - I believe the lead singer unfortunately killed himself. The album is already over ten years old I think but it was new to me. Great stuff.]
